Interested in an apprenticeship?
We are now accepting applications for the 2020 season. Thanks for your interest!
We have two apprenticeship positions available each season. The position is described in detail below. Please submit an application through the Farm Link Montana website.
We offer a well-rounded farming experience and are committed to helping the next generation of farmers. We aim to provide you an apprenticeship, not just another summer intern job. No experience is necessary but we’re looking for serious applicants that are passionate about regenerative agriculture and mid-scale production farming. Come join the family of farmers that has hosted 20+ years of apprentices. We are two miles from the Bitterroot River for fishing and swimming, and we have a pond on the property for hot summer days, and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness is at our back door. A bike is handy.
Working apprenticeship: will include field prep, composting, weeding, irrigation, greenhouse management, hoop-house work, tractor operation, hay production, early morning harvesting, transplanting, seeding, farmers market, delivery, post harvest handling and storage, and livestock care. Apprentices will work side-by-side with us everyday to learn all aspects of our operation. Work is 5 days a week, 8 to 11 hours a day. Compensation is DOE, starting at $275 per 5-day week. There is farm produce available for personal consumption. We also provide local organic milk and cheese from our partner dairy and creamery. Separate apprentice shelters offer privacy during off hours, includes own kitchen, outdoor hot shower, and washing machine.
